Our Story

It all begins with their love story.  In 2002, The owner,  JJ, had a vision to open an upscale Thai restaurant that would describe the character of his wife. That is how the restaurant got its name, Noi. Noi (Meaning tiny or little) was born in Thailand. She is the youngest daughter in her family, which is why her mom (Chanpen, Founder of Bai Tong Thai Restaurants), named her Noi. For JJ, Noi is the most beautiful woman; she is elegant, kind, positive, and a very caring person. The restaurant is created in honor of her character. JJ has put his heart and soul in every detail of the restaurant from the design and decor and especially in the food. He flew all the way to Thailand to select the best Thai chefs, to ensure that every dish on our menu brings you the heart and character of his loving Wife Noi. JJ once said, “ I always remember the first time I kissed her.” And like a first kiss, we want our guests to fall in love with our food and always remember that first bite.

Not just paying attention to the taste and quality of our food, we pay attention to our food’s appearance and the decoration on the dishes as well. We want to add value to our Thai food and ensure that each of our guests feel that they have received a special gift from us!   To achieve that goal, we have been working with a specialist for food decoration, Master Chef Prachan. We want to ensure that all dishes that we serve to your table have excellent authentic taste, and they all have a beautiful, exquisite, and unique appearance. How did I become one of Noi Family?  Mr. Chaiseeha and I share the same vision and goal in everything we do for our customers and our restaurants.  I value the passion that was dedicated into the excellent Thai dishes being served.  Mr. Chaiseeha puts his love into everything he does by picking the best quality ingredients, choosing the finest locations for the restaurants, and most importantly, he put his heart into finding the right experienced chefs to help serve our customers and our family.  I want to add my love and passion into making the authentic Thai dishes to the next level.

Our Family Restaurants


In 1989, the original Bai Tong started as a small restaurant near the Sea-Tac airport by the former Thai Airways flight attendant, Chanpen Lapangkura. She called her restaurant ‘Bai Tong’, which means banana leaf in Thai.  Since then, we now have four locations in Washington.

Bai Tong Thai Street Café offers varieties of famous street foods from Thailand.  We offer authentic Thai food that you would find at food stalls on the street side in Thailand.  We bring you the taste and the freshness of Thai street food without having to take a plane ride.
